Grows in all Estonia, but patchily. Stone bramble leaves resemble those of the cloudberry but cloudberry plants are much smaller. The stems of the stone bramble are non-lignified and creeping and root easily. The runner stems are covered with small slightly prickly spines.

The beautiful red aggregate fruits are edible, but the seed inside each drupe is large and the juicy cover thin. If you find a dense patch of stone bramble you can suck at the sourish fruits around the seeds. They contain many valuable substances but somehow ones appetite is quite quickly satisfied.
