VIDEO: second egg will probably not be seen in the nest today

Sulev took over from Linda in the nest at 4.45 pm, bringing along nest material. Thus we will not see a second egg in the nest in daylight today. How does the saying go – it is the early bird that catches the worm. Or egg?

In 2009 as well as 2010 Linda laid the eggs nearly at the same time, only a day apart. The weather then was just a little milder. Of course the cold that has been foretold until half next week makes us a little worried ...

White-tailed eagles are quite substantial birds, adults can weigh up to six kilos. The Väinameri (Straits Sea) is ice-covered to the horizon, energy has been used and will be needed for melting the frozen nest as well as warming the eggs in cold nights. The weather brought wind as well, which makes the cold even more biting, and finding food is not easy at present either.
