Golden saxifrage
Alternate-leaf golden saxifrage Harilik lepiklill Chrysosplenium alternifolium
The golden saxifrage starts flowering in wet swamp forests and on the banks of water bodies. Incidentally, people on the islands don’t know the golden saxifrage.
The golden saxifrage is peculiar-looking, bright yellowish-green in colour. Even the leaves have the same colour, forming a pretty collar around the inflorescence that in turn is supported by the bract leaves. The bracts are fleshy and with a toothed margin. The golden saxifrage cannot be easily confused with any other plant.
