Blue tits are early morning birds, as soon as the first great tits have been there, the cautious blue tits arrive. Sky blue on crown of head, circled by a white band – cheeks white, black patch under chin and some blueish-white at the nape. Shimmering green on back, yellow underparts, but without the black lengthwise stripe of great tits. Smaller, quicker, shyer than the great tits.
