Siskins.
| Siskin | Carduelis spinus |
The crown, chin and back of the female are grey, with black streaks. Juveniles look similar to the females, but are a little more yellow and more streaked.
The crown and bib of male birds are black, the back greenish, with narrow black stripes. The cheeks, breast, and vent area are yellowish-green.
The winter number of siskins varies widely – from some ten thousands to hundred thousand.
