World of Materials
The web site World of Materials, “Materjalimaailm”, set up and maintained by Jaak Kikas, professor of physics at Tartu University (TU) Institute of Physics, is a virtual materials collection where more than 200 examples of materials are presented. Descriptions of the materials are supplemented by information on composition and structure, properties, production, and uses, and references to information sources (literature & Internet). The World of Materials website also contains many photos and video illustrations. They may be freely used on condition that reference to the World of Materials is provided.
In looduskalender.ee themes from World of Materials, “Materjalimaailm”, are introduced with a somewhat freer less technical approach, and with additional illustrations.
