Krassgrund islet and surrounding waters are in the Gulf of Finland, west of the Pakri islands.

On Friday, March 5,5 pm to 7 pm, in the Cupola Hall of the National Library, Tõnismägi 2, Tallinn:
ELF presents the results from the investigation of the waters surrounding the Krassgrund islet, to the west of the Pakri islands on Estonia’s northern coast. From February 2009 to January 2010 the bottom-living organisms and their habitats were investigated, the fish fauna was inventoried and existing data on birds and seals were supplemented.

At the seminar the experts will present different aspects of the biodiversity of this marine area:
Georg Martin talks about the bottom fauna and habitats,
Markus Vetemaa  about the fish fauna,
Ivar Jüssi about seals.

The question of which nature protection measures (changing the borders of the protected area, the protection status etc) would be best suited to the purpose will be discussed.

All with an interest in the issues are invited.
Please let us know about your participation before Thursday evening, by mail to kaia@elfond.ee
