Orchid show at Tallinn Botanic Garden
Although it is still winter in the calendar, the exotic orchids already blossom with a springtime wealth of flowers.
Orchids are special in the realm of plants. They bewitch us with their extraordinary beauty, lure us into their domain almost by magic – and keep us spellbound ever afterwards. These flowers turn everyday life into an adventure in the mysterious world of plants.
In the exhibition the orchids are skilfully displayed among the other plants in the new glasshouse.
Species from nature and varieties created by human efforts are exhibited side by side. We will leave it to the visitors to decide for themselves whether the work of nature or of man is the most successful.
In addition to the well-known Phalaenopsis, or Moth Orchids, a wide range of other tropical orchids are on show: Paphiopedilums or slipper orchids, Vandas, Cymbidiums, Epidendrums, Dendrobiums, Masdevallias, Oncidiums and many others.

Rare species from various places around the world are also shown at the exhibition.
