New Camera

This year the Winter White-tailed Eagle Feeding Ground Camera starts a little later than in previous years. The camera was installed on December 8, with the assistance of Tiit and Joosep, but we only managed to get the sound in working order in the new year, with the help of Beta Group.

Dry spell made bog bilberries ripen

Bog bilberries.

Bog bilberry bushes can grow up to waist height and the leaves are blueish green, bilberries reach barely up to knee height and their leaves are bright green. The stems of the bog bilberry are brownish and round, those of the bilberry green and angular when young. Both are deciduous dwarf bushes.

About the berries: the berries of the bog bilberry aren’t quite as round as those of the bilberry, they are lighter coloured and bluer than the bilberry berries, and don’t smudge the hands so much at picking. They are valuable fruit but from a culinary point of view not so delicious. For some very few people eating bog bilberry berries can cause something similar to drunkenness - but any slightly sensitive person must observe the effects of nearly all food these days.
