Goshawk nest in Riga 2015-2019

A new camera in Riga, Latvia - a Goshawk (Accipiter gentilis) nest in urban vicinity

Goshawks have a weight from 0,52 kg (smallest males) up to 2,2 kg (biggest females), body length 46 -63 cm, wingspan 89 - 122 cm.
Most clutches have 2-4 eggs, eggs have a pale green to pale blue color.
Incubation time is 37-39 days.
Hawklets fledge after 40-45 days.

Barking and some music, but the hawk doesn't pay any attention on those sounds.

What happened Bea? The nest is empty, already yestarday was also..... :cry:
And there are the eggs alone, as I see it well.

It seems that mom could not call the male with food long time and so she left the nest... the male is too young, we think... unfortunately. :unsure: But - better now as later... :nod:

I wondered already as whenever I opened it the last days, it was empty.

What a pity, it would have been interesting to watch this nest, especially as it was in a urban vicinity - how the birds deal with it .....

I just saw that a crow ate what I presume was an abandoned egg there.

After breeding at this nest failed last season, another try in 2016!
