Those birds are so tiny and fradgile, when they move it's like they only have strenght to helplessly flap with random body parts a bit. Hard to believe they will almost be adult in two weeks.

Oh, and pooping is exhausting - need to rest after, every time.

Whats a pity, seems only few members are interested in nest of our neighbors Great Tits and breeding. Maybe most of you know how it goes on and other Animals are more interesting.

Not easy to count beaks ... 6-7

Last egg (from8) is visible

Yes, can see 7 beaks (one beak down is not good to see, chick sleeps)

Mom sleeping outside from nest, again not hatched egg to see

I find that bird nest fascinating. Probably less photogenic than the storks - but always something going on.
Was really rooting for that last egg to hatch, anyone knows how often a great tit egg fails?

I am trying to follow, but don't have too much time. I think 7 of the 8 eggs hatched, I think I saw today the last unhatched egg and could count 7 beaks asking for food.

Besides, the Great Tit is the bird of the year in this year in Estonia and on the main page there are many interesting articles about the birds: http://www.looduskalender.ee/n/en/taxonomy/term/1

At my place the last few days the second clutch of great tits are flying around already. They make such a racket around the trees and bushes

Till now it's very hard to hear the chicks. Only via headphone today heard very quiet voices if there was a feeding. Sadly always losing streaming today.

It is written on the 1 page that in case it is not raining heavily, tomorrow at 6 in the morning this clutch is likely to leave the nestbox.
