Afternoonsafari 06.05.2015 with Pieter, Bryan/camera

The female Kudu-kill of a Leopard, most likely 4 times his weight….. where is the owner?
Image

Here it is, nor far away …. Quarantine, Q.
Image

Image

Image

And where are the Hyenas? They sure won’t be long ….
Q wants to bring his kill into safety, but how to move 130 pounds!? Not so easy, so better eat a little bit more first

Hyena came to Shadow's kill and managed to pull it down from the tree and run off with it.
And the blasted cub is hiding -- so we don't know that it is safe. (It is safe, but we don't KNOW that he is safe.) The Hyena who got the kill ran off but the second hyena is jumping around under the tree -- where the kill had been and where Shadow is.

Hyena are also under Quarantine's kill and they did find a big bite to run off with.

:loveshower: so happy you made an entry again, Alice44! Missed it!

Today that sounds dramatic and I really hope that Shadows cub will survive all the attacks.

That Q's kill would be found was clear and Pieter and Hayden were already yesterday afternoon surprised, that it had noch happened already ... hopefully Q had his fair share!

Thanks for telling!!!
Have a nice day!

Shadow's Cub eating

Image

Changing places Shadow's turn to eat

Image

After the cub had eaten the food had slipped a little bit. The first thing Shadow did was try to move it, but it was hanging low enough that when the hyena arrived it jumped and jumped --Shadow climbed higher -- and the hyena caught a leg(?) and pulled it down and ran off.

My images MIGHT have gotten out of order -- the flat cat above might be Quarantine

----

This is Quarantine before the hyenas were even really gone -- he watched one for a bit, Quarantine jumped back down to the comfortable ground. He knew the hyena was there but just stayed where he was looking relaxed.

8 May Morning Drive

Stephan (on foot) found a Leopard -- but I missed it.

Pieter found the Leopard -- Shadow and her cub (Little Sunshine)

about here they pulled off to the left into the dense bush a while later we found out the (probable) reason
Image

Image

Wild dogs were found just a little bit ahead of where the leopards changed direction
