 Hi everybody.
Still nothing known about restart of the safari drives. But Tara keeps in contact on Facebook. She wrote a blog about her holidays on the beach, with pictures. (I think I gave you the link before, but then it was still without pictures) So here it is again. http://tara-pirie.blogspot.com/2011/12/ ... remes.html

After being home she returned to Djuma for a visit of a few days. She was out on a drive with Jacco and wrote a blog about it. Here is the link: http://tara-pirie.blogspot.com/2012/01/ ... th-on.html. She made some pictures of the Djuma animals and shared them with us. :shake:
Something is happening, but I have not the faintest idea what is going on. We have to wait!

Today I found this short message on Facebook

South African National Parks
‎8 rhino carcasses found in Kruger.

South Africa National Parks - SANParks - Official Website - Accommodation, Activities, Prices, Reser
http://www.sanparks.org
The South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced in a statement today that while in an intensified patrols in the various parts of the Kruger National Park (KNP) yesterday (Tuesday, 10 January 2012) rangers found eight (8) carcasses with their horns missing in two sections of the park.

It happened in the full moon period, then it is easier because they don't need spotlights. This is so sad

Leopards on Djuma waterhole cam at 21.38 CAT
There was a birds alarm and as I looked I saw two leopards walking into the bushes on the right. They walked over the dam to the left and there was a third one. Together they walked away to the left and disappeared there. It was not to see which leopards it were but because of their behaviour it could have been Xivindzi and Xivambalana walking toghether and on to Karula.

They needed rain in Djuma and the Kruger Park, but got too much
It seems to be quite a disaster. On Facebook there are several messages about overflowing areas. The dam in Djuma is officially overflowing!
Because of the heavy rainfall there is no phone and internet, so no webcam too. If you are interested in the messages, here is the link. http://www.facebook.com/djuma.game.rese ... l&filter=1
