Sparrowhawk? I think it's same Goshawk as in Starling picture.

Thank you vainamoinen. The last days I was also thinking: Is this a goshawk or a sparrowhawk? If you google arround you find also something about fishing sparrowhawks. So my question: Is it possible to see a "normal" sparrowhawk on carrion??

I don't know, fireblade. It's clear that Goshawk is much more common at carrion. But if about identification - You can compare the size. He is as big as a raven or even a little bit bigger. Sparrowhawk never could be so big.

I've just looked on google. pictures

I see the Goshawk has more feathers on the legs. He has a pants on

:hi: That´s a good idea to remember to look at. Skinny legs vs. "hairy" legs. :laugh:

I also saw the buzzard today. He was on the branch for a long time.
