Clouds!
if someone of you has a) time and b) wish to look through 4607 wonderful cloud-pictues - there they are!
http://cloudappreciationsociety.org/gal ... &pagenum=1

but you can spend less time and pick just one category of clouds - Stratus, Cumulus, Cirrus etc.

I think the Golden Eagle has returned to its nest in Finland (renandeli! do you follow this group? I watched in 2006 but they have not had eagles since then. That was a dramatic year.)

News from the Nest
March 29, 2009. Nesting Activity Going On at Golden Eagle’s Nest

We are happy to report that nesting has started at one of the sites where we have a camera installed. The camera comes on when the temperature reaches about 0 C, and it starts to send pictures to our web pages. We are eagerly anticipating the weather to turn warmer so that the pictures will come in at shorter intervals. It was year 2006 when we last had the opportunity to observe Golden Eagles’ nesting right from the beginning. Let’s hope our winged friends have a successful season this year.

No, I haven't. I didn't know of it. The Black Stork cam was my first experience, last year. Thank you for this camera, Bo!

I am glad you will watch it, I struggled to understand the Finnish (they provide some English translations, but during dramatic times the translations did not come very fast.)

NOTE :D

The osprey nest in Finland is such a popular topic for discussion and pictures, that Jo and I decided to set up a new topic just for this nest. All the posts from this thread have been moved to a new topic: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=107

See you there!

There is an interesting study about LSE sex ratio:
Ülo Väli - Sex ratio of Lesser Spotted Eagle Aquila pomarina nestlings in good and poor breeding years.
http://www.zbi.ee/~yvali/artiklid/BS2004.pdf

And there are more publications from the same (and other) authors, incl Urmas!
Lots of information about Spotted Eagles:

That seems like reliable source of information about black stork's sex ratio. It's Portugese research:

There is some good animal-news too:

on http://www.wildtiere-live.de

the first 3 red deer calfs are born.
The webcam has been placed at the large red deer meadow. Often you can see the
animals, they can also be in the forest at the left side where are the places where
they become food, also they are not always on the meadow, the views are beautiful. Some pc's can steer the camera..

Alice, I went to look, and found that we have to choose which type of connection we want. I clicked on "video for DSL". Then it asked me to download Extension for Windows media Player, so I did that. Then I found I was looking at someone's backside!! It's a good cam. But Fraps didn't capture it. I will try again with Faststone. If that doesn't work, I shall have run out of ideas.

Some of the links go to things like Amazon.com but many don't so if one seems too much like advertising just try again.

Mostly I was just using it to look at what animals live where and to see commonalities. Some creatures live all over the world, it is amazing.
