OMG.. I just thought that I had submitted the link  :
Please forgive me  Here:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/earth/hi/earth_ne ... 314558.stm

It is a very special and rare event that the photographer got the moments on video:

..."One of the things I witnessed was an eagle up a kilometre high and it put its wings up over its head and it fell in a bizarre way, vertically," Dr Oakes described.

"Then in the last 100 yards it went into a low powerful glide and hit the back of a calf."

"This is an extremely dangerous thing for an eagle to do, because the prey is much larger and heavier."

People here in Finland are wondering that Squirrels make sounds like cat! I heard the video sound last night from the radio.. And thought that it can't be a squirrel meowing like that. But it is.

Squirrels Say ...."Meow"? :slap:

published today 06:42 PM, YLE news, video and a little article in English!

My squirrels all seem to make a chirping scolding sound -- which can be heard from a bit of a distance but it does not seem really loud.

I have just read about a puppycam!
Durham (north England) police has put a webcam in a kennel, showing police dog GSD Heidi and her puppies.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tyne/8324793.stm
for the description. The webcam will be turned on whenever the kennel is staffed.

The nine puppies were born on Thursday October 15th. There are five boys and four girls. That part of the kennel is empty right now, but apparently they can go between two areas. Another cam is promised soon.

 someone rare and very cute - flying squirrels in Estonia
http://www.elfond.ee/et/lendoravale/lendoravagalerii
their nests are high up in old aspen trees and you can see from pictures how a flying squirrel got tagged with a radio transmitter ( a collar around neck)

here is some explanation about these rare and endangered animals in English

I think our troubles with Spotted Owls is related to the fact that they mostly hunt our flying squirrels, which live in old growth forests ...

The video of the little squirrel is, well, cute!

That article about Miina was from December last year.
Is there a way to enquire about progress?

I could make a call from UK, but it would be more sensible if the caller was in Estonia!

Any volunteers??

They really are cute. I have just watched a 'MILLION' videos there.
It seems some people are keeping these little squirrels as pets ? :puzzled: Unless they are doing as one man said, rearing the babies after he'd cut down their nest-tree. !!

This link is on Looduskalander news page;
This bird, originates from Siberia and is usually a passer-by in Estonia but he has stayed a week nr. Tallin already. And so giving even the last of the birdchasers a chance to photograph it. It is an Australasian Pipit.

"Miami loomaaias koorus haruldane kotkapoeg "
"Rare (Harpia harpyja) eaglet hatched in Miami zoo"
http://www.elu24.ee/?id=181556

he/she looks pretty cool-calm and content with him/herself. Chilltown!!!
Image
Image

Last month, Miami Metrozoo became the second zoo in USA, where rare Harpia eagle has reproduced.
Since deathhrate on the eagles is high, the zoo waited until this week to announce the good news.
The sex of the eaglet has not been determined, because zoo workers can't get to him/her. Mother-eagle becomes aggressive and covers the eaglet with wings, as soon as strangers approach.
Harpia is the biggest and most powerful bird of prey on the American continent and one of the biggest species of eagles in the world.

Eelmisel kuul sai Miami Metrozoost teine loomaaed USAs, kus on paljunenud haruldane harpüiakotkas.

Kuna kotkapoegade suremus on suur, ootas loomaaed rõõmusõnumi avalikustamisega selle nädalani, kirjutas WENN.

Linnukese sugu pole õnnestunud määrata, sest loomaaiatöötajad ei pääse talle ligi. Kotkaema muutub võõraste lähenedes agressiivseks ja katab tibu tiibadega.

Harpüiakotkas (Harpia harpyja) on Ameerika mandrite kõige suurem ja võimsam röövlind ning üks maailma suuremaid kotkaliike.
