The family that preens together, stays together . . . adults & kids alike spend late afternoon preening their feathers.

Handsome heron chicks are growing up. One is curious about the cam housing.

Hello,
My favorite cameras :
[*] Kestrel in Turmfalke (Switzerland)[/b]
http://www.turmfalke.ch/live_cam.htm
five eggs this year, all hatched
[*] Peregrine falcon in Boise (Idaho - USA)[/b]
http://www.peregrinefund.org/subsites/webcam-peregrine/
perhaps three eggs, the female moved into the blind spot of the camera
[*] White storks in Przygodzice (Poland)[/b]
http://www.bociany.ec.pl/
Like last year, all five eggs hatched... but the latter is very small
... and did not survive... It seems that there are feeding problems due to drought
Second baby was killed by his mother, the absence of food is obvious

Today no other disposal of baby in the nest of polish white storks
Babies are left alone for the first time, while their parents hunt this is perhaps the end of the tragedy

21:56pm-- Here they come, first visit tonight. Smack-smack-smack! This is the group with 8 piglets. There is another group with only 5 piggies. One little stripey in this group of 8 is always very bold & bosses the others around, climbs on them & butts them with his/her head.

I saw that, Fleur, but I was already uploading the video. The little piggie didn't seem to be harmed, though, it just ran oveer by the others & continued to eat.Fleur wrote:I come take a look with you ...

They are so funny when they beg to nurse, they make such a cute little groaning sound.
Piggies get to nurse for a few minutes.
Edit, 00:10-- Well, now I feel just a tiny bit guilty, & I suppose I really OUGHT to go do a little housework! Especially since I will come back later for more cam viewing. So I am off for a while now.
