:wave: Hi everyone!! I don't know if this nest has already been noted by someone in the past, but I just saw a bit about it on NBC national news here and had to tell you of this beautiful golden eagle nest in Decorah, Iowa. Haven't even checked out the full picture as yet, but apparently there are two brand new eaglets in the past few days, with maybe a third yet to hatch. :bounce: It seems to be in HD!!!! Such a gorgeous, clear view! So, more eagles to tide us over while still hoping for Linda and Sulev to return to the nest.

Yes, Rosebud, I posted it in the WTE forum. I looked to see if anyone else had posted it, but I might have missed checking this forum page. The Decorah, IA, cam is wonderful, & it has night lighting so our European friends can see it after dark during their evenings. Saw both eaglets & the remaining egg, as well as papa bringing a rabbit, a bird, & a fish to his honey-babe on the nest this afternoon. She has a good hubby! By the way, they are bald eagles, not golden eagles.

Good morning :hi:

Fleur, it is the same nest, just another view.

Image

I have recorded a bit of their family life this morning. Preening, ruffeling the mate, rolling the eggs, nest exchange.

Have a great day everyone.

Macdoum I am sorry that I have only just seen your request. Of course there can be another Black stork topic. I must find the right place for it!

Here is the topic Macdoum requested. I have copied Fleur's post to start it!

Of course!!

I got a nest box with a cam for my birthday and we immediately hang it up on a birch not far from the house. The video camera is fitted with infrared light, the birds cannot see that. A microphone is fitted in too. The cam is connected to my PC with a cord plus some adapters and stuff that changes the VHS signal so that it can be broadcasted digitally. I use Ustream for the broadcasting. So what you see is really very "home made"....
A Bluetit visited the nest box already the first evening and very soon it started to spend the nights there. Now the nest building has started. The female is doing the job, the male is watching on a nearby branch..... :whistling:
Probably within a week or so there should be eggs, if we are lucky.
The link that Jo provided takes you to the camera page - if you scroll down a bit you can also watch videos of what has been going on since the start in March.

Well that is rather exciting.

No one was about when I visited but I could hear bird song from outside.

A Golden Eagle is nesting in The Cascade Mts. USA now. There are currently two chicks hatched;

Don't know if this link is already here. :puzzled:
Suddenly we seem to be overwhelmed by 'live' nests. :slap:

Thank you, Macdoum, I am looking right now & there is a parent there with the two snow-white eaglets. You can certainly see why it is called a golden eagle with that lovely burnished gold feather headdress!
