Yesterday the cuckoo hatched and today the chick of the wobbelton? right parents. Unfortunately,. It is very windy, the nest rocking and the mother does not stand up.

The cuckoo has grown very fast and the pond pipers do not have it easy. The cuckoo has been ringed, there are no pictures and reports online. I'm curious if the other "real" chick was in the nest. But I can not imagine the cuckoo filling the whole nest.

Today June 15 the cuckoo chick has fallen from the nest, unfortunately. According to the experts the chances of a cuckoo this age surviving outside the nest are very slim. It may die of cold because it has not enough feathers and down and the 'parents' cannot keep it warm outside the nest.
But for the parents it may be a good thing; there is still enough time to start a new nest.

Last night I heard strong movements of the water, and a bird whirred loudly. At first I thought an animal would get the little cuckoo. But then I saw that a human was at the nest. What there was done and whether the cuckoo was saved, nobody knows. It was very windy and dark. Surely there will soon be a report of this aktion on the side of Beleef de Lente. I hope, they saved the little cuckoo
Addendum: The little cuckoo was saved. Thumbs up for a man who listened to his heart

The Reed Warbler has built a new nest a few meters away. Meanwhile, there are 4 eggs and I wish the little bird that he keeps his own chicks and does not get a nest of cuckooegg.

Jujani, these are interesting news. I can see your picture with a person... but strange is that the webpage claims that the cuckoo is still missing. How do you know that the bird was saved? Did that man take a cuckoo with him to care about it?Jujani wrote:The Reed Warbler has built a new nest a few meters away. Here the Blog

The Red Warbler has its own page. On the page with the cuckoo one can still read the old films and blogs. The cuckoo has been rescued and lives in a bird sanctuary, but there is no webcam.
