I'm very sorry , I didn't mention it earlier - please, better use Mozilla Firefox to watch the video stream. If you don't see it anyway, than you need to download flash plugin as standart procedure to watch this kind of flash video.

yes, one of our mistakes. when we placed camera, we made experiment with things of owl's size to focus better quality, but as seems - camera needs to be higher! (job for next year owls' nesting)
but there are positive aspect too - little chicks will be seen closer and better than adult.

It was perfect when I saw the eggs, but it is nice to see the breathing too (it is odd you cannot see the whole owl, but it is not possible for everything to be perfect)

I saw it do wing exercises -- so cute!

I failed to think of a capture.

This cam was mentioned last year, but for those who weren't here or didn't take not of it, this is the Hornby Island, B.C. Bald Eagle camera with (I think) one chick. The sun is at an impossible angle right now for viewing and will be better later.

I also included link to an earlier video cap of the eaglet being fed, with an amazing view of him/her having to exercise his neck muscles to grab the food morsels. We don't have quite the extreme close-up view (well, right now, anyway, since we have no view at all).

Rosebud, I agree, the link looks impossibly long in the Reply box, but when we post the forum software shrinks it to a manageable size..

In earlier times we used things like Tinyurl or posh links, but we don't need those now!

Beleef de Lente's Barn owl has first chick hatched! She seems very happy, chirping all the time

I opened it up and there was a bear! Then something scared it and it ran off very fast.

edit; 22 April. The people involved are posting new videos nearly every day.

The news from here is a very sad one. Lily suddenly went walkabout on Friday,for reasons only known to herself. She left four-month old Hope asleep high in a red-pine tree.
She has since returned to the same spot but Hope has gone. The researchers and others are actively looking for Hope but there is no sign of her.
Its four days now,for a little bear that is still suckling this is frightful news.

The night searchers did not find Hope.. ? They heve to decide what to do next.
As researchers they would not be allowed to capture Hope anyway.

an hour ago Hope was sighted and now confirmed..she is up in a cedar tree.
next thing now is to wait and see if Lily,mother bear turns up SOON. PLease Lily come home your cubbie is waiting for you.
