Hello Baska :hi: ,
thank you for the pictures! These Black Storks are really beautiful. :loveshower:
Tomorrow I will have a look at the polish webcam. Although the cam is quite far away from the nest, it will be interesting to see the Storks moving in this huge tree. It's a completely new view.

The last days I never was successful with watching this cam, no picture ...
I wonder if the forth egg is still there and if it still can hatch.

Thank you for the nice pictures, Baska!

15 minutes later the female got up again and now the last egg was visible.
Baska, thanks! At my first view I've searched for the egg but couldn't see it.

Maybe the last chick is hatching right now. Isn't it a hole in the next pic? :loveshower:
The female was up at three times in half an hour and looking at her little ones and the egg.

Edit: I haven't noticed it before, but as this parent wears a ring, it is not the female. It is Tobias, the male.

Wonderful, Michi ! :2thumbsup:
And you caught very nice pics, too !

Yes, it may well be that there is a hole in the egg. I'm thinking so, too.

Cause I’m astonished that already 3 chicks have hatched, I’ve looked at dates of egg laying and counted days of breeding. The eggs were laid on April 10th, 12th, 14th and most likely 16th.
In literature about Black Storks is written that breeding time is 34 – 38 days. Based on 34 days of breeding, today the hatching of the first and maybe second chick should be expected. But today we have already three chicks!
Based on the fact that the third chick has hatched today, it would be only 32 days of breeding. Though none of the chicks looks as if it hatched today, - even it is difficult to estimate with this webcam without moving pics. If the third chick has hatched already yesterday, this would mean 31 days of breeding. This is far away from the maximal breeding time, even much less than the minimum time. Is this something special or is it usual? I think, it’s noteworthy.

11:24 nest time, the egg is still there.

I hope, the parents will bring up all the storklets. I've read about that BS sometimes killed a young when there are too many.
In any case it will be tight in the nest when they get bigger.
