Re: Black Stork nest in Portugal
Good morning! Both Black Storks were on the nest at dawn. They have been active, coming and going, the nest building is progressing.

Good evening! I have returned in front of PC!
at 18:13 (at 16:13 in Portugal)the other one returned on the nest. I think I saw two BSs, but propably I'm wrong.. I have read the posts in Portugal, and understood that from the morning till early afternoon BSs were very active, carried materials to the nest and contructed it. i Have to check my folders what my automat fraps has taken later..
just for the moment at 18:16 there is the other BS seen on the edge of rock.
edit: 18:26 (16:26) the BS flew away!

Both Black Storks are now on the nest. The first one returned at 19:52 and the second two minutes later 19:54.
The other one is hiding in the corner!
The other one arranges the nest, gathers twigs.. Some times they are side by side on the nest.
some pics

Later, - they were moving in and out, arranging, showing the white underweathers, but then also the other one went behind the corner. Now, at 20:30 it is quiet. They have Black Storks secrets they share It's calm, other birds seems to fly over the view, they do not care...

Well, it's ok! We can learn later, 'tomorrow'! I guess someone has taken a video of the moment, all will be able to see it!macdoum wrote:Realdeli. you are not the only poor P.C. user...!! I am in the same boat

The mating took about one minute, hm.. I don't know , but not only 7 seconds. I was so upset.. could not behave reasonably.
(but the time-numbers are not 'right'.. I took the pics from the video
I just add some pics more from the video. ( I do not care that the pictures are blurred, it was so dark already, and we know how beautiful Balck Storks are

Your pictures are very interesting.
I also took pictures from a video but they are equal, so it is not worth putting them here
For now, I can't put the video in the YouTube because it's very big

Tomorrow will be an exiting day!
Do you mean that you do not have time enough, or that the youtube can't process it.. Anyway, you may put it later! There is no hurry.. And some times it is usefull to put a long video in two- three parts (quite often I have 'no time' to wath one 10 minute's intersting video, but I watch ten one minute's videos very likely.. it's funny..For now, I can't put the video in the YouTube because it's very big

Since early in the morning activities. BSs left the nest for first time at 08:30 and 08:43. Coming and flying back and worth, nest building all the time. What huge new branches on the nest. Lot of moss. Portuguese Black Storks have a work day!

Hello all
BS woke up at 6:20 UTC, the first one left a 6:30 UTC and the second at 6:43. Since then, one (or both, impossible to say) is coming and going with branches and moss for the nest.
It's really a battle to make a nest
