Re: White Tailed Eagles Discussion 2010
Mew, I noticed your suggestions, but for the same reason as yours, I tend to keep quiet at these "naming" times!!
I firmly believe it is a matter for Estonians .. Those of us who don't know the language, history and culture can't really contribute a great deal. But you, at least, made the attempt - great!

I agree wholeheartedly. I did make some [silly] suggestions, to be helpful - but I find that I'm not comfortable with doing so, or with voting. It feels a bit 'invasive' over another people's language and culture. I'm sure you Estonians will understand why I tried - but I would MUCH rather that you (including Urmas and Renno) made an 'informed' choice.Jo UK wrote:Mew, I noticed your suggestions, but for the same reason as yours, I tend to keep quiet at these "naming" times!!

Its been a joy to watch this cam all afternoon...
These two eaglets are quiet, curious and very lazy or maybe they are replete and happy.
I note that they have done some interior/exterior decorating. Is white the in colour this year ?

Boars, I think, are near by the tree. Linda is very observant.
And yes it is a joy to watch. Linda is such a mighty and lovely bird. And now very very tired.

at 10.56 Sulev payed a visit to the nest. i didn't see whether he brought something because the camera was in the side of my screen while i was doing other things... anyways there is some red meat on the nest now (it must be the bird that Sulev brought on his previous visit as Mutikluti reports up there).
before Sulev came Linda was sitting on the left side of the nest by the chicks who were lying there immobile but tweeting lazily. now she is feeding the chicks with the bird meat.
the eaglets are really well fed: they eat as much as they can. the food supply is practically limitless because Sulev is such a good and reliable hunter. if the chicks don't eat then they lie down the rest of the time and grow.

What a relief to see TWO LIVE eaglets in the Lindas&Sulevs nest. Thank God we can see them eating and growing up
It makes my feeling a little better, but I´m still very shocked about owls tragedy

I opened 11.06 (cam.-time) and got the best sight of all. Linda feeding the chicks - seemed to be with some kind of bird - untill 11.31, then she made a little nestcleaning and the small ones felt asleep again - yes Ame, I agree, it seems to be what such youngs duty are at this point, eat and sleep then they grow fast to be ready to come out into the big world in such a short time
Eagles better know how to live their lifes than humans do on their behalf

I´m very happy, that the picture is back at least. But, it is rather unsharp, isn´t it. Or is this only in my computer ? What´s going wrong ?

the eaglets are lying there alone, the parents are away. the other one is trying to wake up. a while ago it called for parents in almost an adult-like voice.
it's such a contradiction to see these chicks lying there choking with food while the owlets are starving one by one....
