Hah.. Sulev is not too modest, he knows that there has to be good logs on the base when you are going to build an White Tailed Eagle nest.
OMG he looks great!

HELLO Sulev! I have been waiting for this cam whole winter long :P
Im so glad/good it is finally starting again.puppies!!---er. eaglets !! Last spring i joined the cam when the eggs were already laid and were already being hatched, this time i can watch from the very first day the eagle arrives to the nest and starts repair work and. I do like pigs and deer and little birds too but THIS cam is definitely my nr.1 Favourite of all time!!!!
I wish i could find some way to do like my bachelor theseis work based on eagle surveillance and observing :)
Sulev visited nest again at 11.40am. Wind is ental. Sulev is waiting for Linda right?
THIS is so good,
thank you, Urmas and Renno, for putting the eagle cam up!

This and Stork cam are the best. Sulev is awesome to watch.
It is windy as always in the eagle cam (stork cam is quieter.) so turn down the volume when watching the video, otherwise you'll blow your speakers.

This is só beautiful. These mighty birds on their nest.
Great pictures, Mutikluti!
Edit: and is this the same place as last year, only different angle?

Exciting to see Sulev back on the nest! This cam angle is terrific (better than last year, I think).

i've been trying to figure out how the new viewing angle is oriented in comparison to the direction of last year... . i'm guessing that the new position could be about at right angles (or a bit more perhaps) to the right from the last year's direction. so the camera would be looking too the East this year, is it, towards the morning Sun? i can't find if it is told somewhere....
and is the camera on the same tree as the nest this year? i'm guessing that last year it was on another tree and that's why the picture was swaying so much: the nest tree going tot right and the camera tree to the left and vice versa, creating a bad sea-sickness syndrome to the viewer sometimes....
in the picture in LK-nest-news (http://www.looduskalender.ee/sites/defa ... esapuu.jpg)
Urmas is balancing in another tree than the one where the nest is, but where exactly is the camera? isuppose it's gotta be in the other, quite next to the nest, as they say...

Yes, the same nest. The camera was attached to a different branch last year. During a storm, that branch came down and Urmas had to fix it to another place. It has to be where it is - there are no more places to hold the camera. I think it is a great improvement and we must hope that this branch holds firm!jopie wrote:Good morning all!

On the LK page you can see the height of the nest, and the height Urmas climbed to get to it. I think we have an Olympic tree climber on the forum!

Ame, I don't know the exact answer to your questions about N - S orientation, but let's try to work it out by angles of the sun.
Mutikluti posted this picture at 09.30 Estonian time on 10th February
Then I did this screen capture at 17.31 on 24th February. Morning and evening.
