No residents, yet. A cold rain falls on the empty nest.

:loveshower: There is a lot of activity near the kotkas nest this morning, but it all is out of view, so far. But-- not out of earshot! If only WTEs would arrive . . .

A lovely bird song (do not know what kind), & cranes also call from somewhere nearby.

Whooper swans flying by, I think.

Swans fly over the nest (no sound at end for some reason :puzzled:).

Yes, what a pity  Yesterday evening I had the cam run and was absolute delighted by the sunset birdsongs :shake:

But I may not watch the cam during strong wind that is shaking the tree - I´m getting a kind of seasick

:hi:

I like the wider view, too
We have more chance to see birds sitting on the branches around than before :headroll:

And I won´t give up hope that the nest will be used by eagles ....
Last season tooni-cam opened on April, 18th, and then a BS -Padis- was there - without partner.
On April, 21st, BS took off and the LSEs Remo and Tuuli appeared at the nest ....

This view is more like the one a couple of seasons ago & having the wider, more pulled-back view minimizes the waviness in the picture when the wind sways the tree. I like it much better. I remember we did complain last summer of the way the cam made things seem more distorted in the wind, so this may help.

This morning is nice, still no residents, but nice sound of birds in the background. I think cranes as well as the small birds.

Perhaps with this wider view & more of the forest floor visible, we will see piggies or elf/moose, like we did before.
