 We have had several creatures try to use this nest in the past-- why not a great tit to add to the list? :D

Earlier this morning, I took this but was busy getting other recordings & did not get it posted till now. The early morning was misty & maked the lens a bit foggy. The scene looked like a watercolor painting of a landscape. There was nice birdsong, too.

Edit: If anyone misses seeing eagles, especially eaglets, The Decorah Bald Eagle nest now has two freshly hatched chicks. First picture of chick #1 coming out of the shell is here: viewtopic.php?p=133149#p133149 & more pics & videos follow from there.

Couple of days ago I had possibility to visit the nest and turned zoom of the camera lens more wide (to see better the possible visitors near the nest), also adjusted focus. Though camera is situated in the same place as previously.
Switched on automatic "for night switch off" system based on light sensitive photo diode - that's because low power in batteries measured.
Hope cam will work now better in light time. Did anybody see, when the cam switched in/off?

At the moment the Common Snipes are playing around the nest, although they will not breed in the nest, but somewhere on wet ground.

Thank you for the information and the adjustment of the camera - though it is sad that it looks like another year without the eagles there!
I did not see when it turned off yesterday, even today it is still on, though shows the black and white pattern.

the camera is still on but it's showing "white snowing". with a headset i can hear a mallard calling in the darkness.
i tried it here and the voice can hardly be heard but it is there.... hopefully it's not Maisy planning a new trial at the nest....

thank you Urmas for the wider view!

Hello :hi: Thank you for the wider viuw, it's great.
12:35 - empty nest, it's windy.

While we wait patient:
- Right in front of astonished drivers at E10 at Vestvågøy in Lofoten, a flock of White Tailed Eagles was having a feast on the ice. On the menu was Whooper Swan. At the most it was seven eagles at once:
http://www.nrk.no/nyheter/distrikt/nordland/1.8053739
- The article also says that the eagles have to eat impurities like feathers in their food so the digestive system will function. If they only eat pure meat, they will die.

I think the eagle with the ring was ringed on the nest, at Steigen in Nordland in 2010 ( according to a comment I have read in an norwegian bird forum )

This shows us once again how lucky we were that we had Mutikluti, Jo, Andres and more friends making first class zooming at the eagle feedingground this winter :shake:
