19:31 - Pruuni (?) is beautiful in the glow of the evening sun. When is it expected that the egg will hatch?

the egg was laid on April 27th and the hatching time is about 38-40 days if i don't remember wrong... on May 27th it will be 30 days and then 8-10 days more so it'll be about June 4th - 6th or so... :dunno:

Pruuni has been sleeping with her head tucked under the wing almost for half an hour in the golden sunset. other birds are still singing loudly.
Image

the last flock of geese flew over the forest at 19.52. i think i heard the first geese at 17.49. they tend to fly over in the evening. i read in a paper that the migration of geese to the Arctic is still underway. i suppose these geese are headed up to the ultimate North.

at 7.09 Halli brought some little breakfast to Pruuni (a vole? yesterday's meal was so big and black that it could have been a mole).
Image

Pruuni took off with it.
Image

Halli is staying on the egg and now Pruuni is calling somewhere not far in the forest.
Image

the bringing-of-food and change-over was a perfect copy of yesterday's change-over. Mr and Mrs B have became a routined couple. 8-)
now Pruuni is quiet and Halli seems to fall asleep. well not quite...

Halli began calling at 7.23 and took off.
Image

the egg was alone at home for a while before Pruuni (i guess) returned about two minutes later.

now i saw that i was mistaken in the previous: it was Halli who returned to the nest at 7.25 and not Pruuni! :slap: they do look so alike! :faint:
he just made a little roundtrip in the forest at 7.25 and returned to the nest.- this is Halli in the nest at 10.21.
Image

at 10.16 he woke up (he had been snoozing...) and started to call a little, rose up for a little walking trip to the back rim and back, preened a little and called some more...

then at 10.24 Pruuni finally came.
Image

they talked a little and then Halli took off.
Image

Pruuni settled on the egg.

Pruuni called from the forest and Halli replied from the nest....

then at 12.31 Pruuni landed on the nest and called loudly to Halli who stood up (little reluctantly maybe).

Pruuni lay down on the egg, calling to Halli all the time and Halli purred softly to her.
Image

he stood on the rim of the nest a little while and then took off.

Pruuni has called from time to time and looked around her at the forest, but sometimes she has been asleep as well. the midday/early afternoon sun makes anyone sleepy... :whistling:
she's leaning on her beak again...

in venegor's picture it looks like Pruuni, but now i think it's Halli who is in the nest. he is almost asleep, too.
Image

EDIT: it seems that the change took place at 15.18. then both birds were in the nest.

i think Pruuni (on the right) has some food in her beak, maybe a frog. it's long and slim.
