hmm... it does not say anything about the location.
i've known that it is on the EENET's Pontu palette, but so is Juras-Erglis, too, and that's in Latvia.
i wish they would tell us where it is. the title i had to give to this topic is somewhat silly: "WTE nest somewhere".
it may be in Saunja region or somewhere in Matsalu bay... or Vilsandi. or in the Northern coast of Estonia.
but to me the scenery looked so Finnish on the first glimpse, with those pines.
the camera is looking North. the rising sun was on the right yesterday morning.
i heard voices of tits, among them willow tits, and also waxwings i think. where might they be wintering?

Its at the moment test camera on WtE nest, neighboring to Linda-Sulev territory. We installed it together with Renno, Omar and Triin 22-23 of January during last frosty days. Then eagles did not appear to look over us.
We will make it public if sure that pair is really in nest and they do not afraid of camera there. It is hided, but we can't be sure about those individuals behavior.
I'm still in Russia and as rule not online, not to speak about watching the stream here. So every news about life in current nest is valuable to decide something .
Good that you found it already, I was looking for possibility to inform Ame about, but not easy with connections here.

Thank you, Urmas! We will keep an eye on the nest. Well, many eyes in fact.
So it is in western Estonia, as I guessed yesterday based on weather conditions

Merikotkas literally means sea-eagle, i.e. meri+kotkas. Same as in German: Seeadler.Janne+Ais wrote:Now we learned a new Word in Estonian: Merikotkas

That's, what Google told me, too.Trine wrote: Merikotkas literally means sea-eagle, i.e. meri+kotkas. Same as in German: Seeadler.
It's so easy to remember. Meri = German "Meer"/See and kotkas we all might already know.

That is great that Google has it in a correct way. It would be temptingly easy to translate merikotkas as sea eagle, which however has a wider meaning than Haliaeetus albicilla. Or to put white-tailed eagle roughly as valgesaba-kotkas, which would be incorrect.
But now let´s hope that a merikotkas herself will turn up. So far only bad weather.

It's great that there is again an Estonian WTE-Cam. I have the best recollections of Saunja Bay, thinking of the season 2013 with Linda, Sulev and little Illimar.
Thank you, Urmas, for informing us! I wish you (and us, of course ;-) ) a successful season!
Thank you, Ame, for starting this new topic!
Edit:
17:19 The cam has stopped.
