Is it a farewell, little Pikne?
10:33:44 Pikne flies away...
... I feel like he's not coming to the nest anymore.
EDIT: I was seriously mistaken

Good morning, everyone
Swenja, Heloise
Many thanks for all your beautiful pictures and reporting!
We will see if Karl II and Pikne will return to the nest.
Yesterday evening Urmas sent an email.
As I wasn't home, I couldn't post pictures earlier.
"Today (so on August 17th) morning Karl II was 5:30 at fish basket and brought from there food for Pikne. He visited twice more the feeding place, but I'm not sure if there was something more to take out. Today it was second day without of adding of fish, after more as two weeks continuous feeding."
Today there was more information to share with all of you:
"This morning Karl II was also at about 5:45 at fish basket, but definitely there was nothing to take. Will see if he finds something without my help. There in a brook are for sure some fish visible. During the day I try to go and add some fish."
Many thanks, Urmas!

Information about UDU and TUUL
Until yesterday, only Udu's transmitter sent a few locations, and only very sporadically (to save the battery, which is still low).
Udu flew westwards.
Urmas wrote this morning:
"Today there is also more news about Tuul.
Early morning also new data of Tuul available. They, together with Udu, flew first step westwards (ca 80km - 90km of nest), spent night between 16/17 together, but next available locations after 3 PM are in different places (30 km of each other). No data, but it may be that they started in the morning separately and so lost visual contact between each other (what can be normal).
I will try to install more locations, but still transmission after every two days. That will be set during next transmission."
Urmas, thank you very much for sharing this information with us.
Edit:
We know (from scientific studies and from observations) that siblings do not migrate together. So it is not really surprising that Udu and Tuul are no longer together. From our human perspective this may seem unfortunate, but for BS juveniles this is most probably the normal course of events.
