What? I see, it is Osprey Erika who has flied over Sahara to the west.

Black Storks are on their route to home.

Gracious..! Where is Erica the osprey going ? To America ?

Must be an error, now Erica has another location.

Most probably our Osprey Erika has covered her first step on spring migration, she arrived to familiar place in Egypt, located between Cairo and Suez. That area is in almost desert, but a bit northwards there are irrigation channels, where fish should be available. There on electric poles situated in desert Erika could eat captured fish without of disturbance.

I happened to find a photo of the Estonian Black Stork Oss, by Carsten Rohde ( I have asked permission to put his photos of Estonian BSs here, for one year ago about. Hope it is still ok! It is just fantastic to find new photos of the Estonian Black Storks. He has been photographing them (them too e g) for years. I don't know how many times there in Israel.

I haven't made a 2011 topic -
I hope there will be a need for such, but it seems unlikely at the moment.

But there is hope, Jo! All black storks have moved on to spring migration according to Urmas' update March 12 on Birdmap .

Raivo's tag was added to the others again.

Yes, most probable in BS nest will be breed LSE pair! At least before the migration they showed willingness to be back in spring. They decorated nest with fresh conifer twigs before leaving.

It will be clear within a few weeks, when the storks are back.

did i understand correct: the BS camera will be at the same nest as before but there will probably be new inhabitants, LSEs?

i really hope that the LSE couple returns there and breeds. it's rather depressing to watch an empty nest.... the only thing that is more depressing is wacthing a lonely bird calling for a mate in vain.

Let us hope this year season will be more interesting and nice than the previous ones.

I am always looking for this cam and hope that it will be the right way with the black storks.
In Germany this stork is waiting for his wife since some days. Last year was the first that he and his wife had young ones alone in a very wide region.

As a last resort,I have been watching the White Stork nest on the Beleef site....on and off.
I could almost watch that vision from my kitchen window. ..there are so many nests around here.

But I have joy: this year again, the camera works falcons on the roof, already sitting on eggs))) . Last year tryanslyatsii was not, it's sad.

It's the 18th of April and the cam is still closed. Why?
