emz, I can´t read Germany, but I think you are right. Somehow I remember Urmas wrote that one young stork was found somewhere near the nest, but it was later, not at fledging time.

Wow, so many pages of posts during few days!
And many questions rised! Sorry - already forgot first ones, but about resighted juvenile stork I remember from head (though, should check next time):
This was not first flight out of nest, but some of next ones. Though seemed too early, compearing other siblings. The stork was observed again in Latvia, more as 100 km of nest and maybe one month later.
Behavior, if they appear close to humans, it is not good, usually it means they are weak or ill... No more observations of that stork we got.

But third egg in Tiina/Tiit nest is prefect Easter present for storkaholics!

To separate Tiina and Tiit needs probably simply long observations and nothing more will help. Small differences are not easy to spot, but overall picture remines the same (for experienced observers). I need also time for this, but...

The original Black Stork 2011 topic has been moved to the LSE forum.

We can only hope that is the right thing to do. Nature doesn't tell us her plans :dunno:

In my opinion it's Tiina. I compared your pictures with my yesterday's graphics. I think important feature is the shape of patches of black feathers at the base of the lower half of the bill. Please note the three bright spots visible on the left wing (fourth photo).
