If I remember right first 3 eggs were not laid every morning.
From Jo´s summary:

"The first egg was seen on April 9th. followed by two more at two day intervals"
Juta, you posted that about 90 minutes ago. I have been reading the summary since, and now remembered to come back here!

Thank you - how kind!!

In fact, I have left that topic open. I can't post to it tonight and, who knows, if I just go away for a while, someone may write something there!

Haven't been in much today..

But, I managed to spend time with Tiina and Tiit today. So calm and lovely and they are so very gentle. Soothing to the soul..

Could someone tell me how Tiit's name is pronounced please?

Has anyone watched these birds on the wintering ground?
I haven't heard anything about them since they left the nest - they should be adults now...

Hmmm... well... maybe something like "teat"... At least the long vowel "ii" should sound like "ea" in English. Letter "t" is pronounced little bit differently in Estonian, maybe it's not as soft as in English. I've been looking for an audio example, but haven't found anything better than that http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyURWGsq6Qs , at 0.10 - 0.12 he says Tiit (Terik etc).

Thank you, Kitty! Wishing a lovely day to you too. :loveshower:

Our Ural Owl is calling again, what a great voice he has! :D Still wondering why is he calling. Is he looking for a mate? Or telling everyone that this is his territory?

I hope he won't be a danger for little storklets. :puzzled:

because we are talking here about past times ...

do you remember when one of the little storks - he had already a ring - fell out of nest after his first flight? we didn't see him anymore and I think nobody gave him a chance for surviving. and then months later we got a picture (from somewhere in the south) of him walking the street along very proud. what a strong guy.

Easter Morning

Tiina was sleeping and Tiit brought a beakful of moss

Image

then Tiit climbed on Tiina's back

Afterward, both preened

Image

Tiit took off, Tiina went back to sleep (or was it the other way around :dunno: )

Hello emz!
I don´t remember any storklet fell out of the nest. There was not quite successful attempt to fly, but storklet managed back.
I found very good short summary written by our member unp on this page(scroll down):

http://discuss.hancockwildlifechannel.o ... tart=13956

Jul 27 - day 117 - Discussion: Mid's first very short flight or just out of the nest? When exercising, Mid missed the nest edge by a couple of centimeters but managed to get back

Correct me if you thought some other accident
