That egg must smell really awful by now. I know Urmas hopes to collect it, or what is left of it, when he rings the chicks. Maybe the worst of the smell will have faded by then.

@ maertha, Thank you for your videos. It was definitely Tiit, who took away the egg and Tiina, who rolled it back again. Today he started again to take it to the side, but then he left it. I wonder why he doesn't throw it completely out of the nest...

Thank you for this video, George. :hi: But I would like to draw your attention to the date you have written in Youtube: it is not the 30th, but the 31st May we've got today...

8:55 - 11:14 It was a very intensive period, bringing a lot of nest materials.

emz The word we use is poop ( a better word :innocent: ) is probably innate, inborn in the chicks and it keeps the nest cleaner.

I thought the same, but I´m still not able to tell which is which with certainty. It´s easier with the ospreys Madis and Piret - fortunately the male is ringed... :D
It looks as if the egg is again on the edge of the nest now. http://pontu.eenet.ee/kurg/2012-05-31/2 ... -18-19.jpg

Tiina's legs are red and Tiit's are thinner and darker.

I don't remember Padis ever brought so big fish. Perhaps here is better fishing place than in the region of his nest. Last year it was the same: huge fish and all the four storklets pecked them together, even little Neli.
