Can't be... I thought that as well, but then I had a look to the weather: In Haapsula are 16°C maximum.
She must be excited.

Sounds are clearly heard from the eggs, perhaps :bounce: :bounce: are going hatch at the same day like a year ago. But I didn't see any holes.

Yes, those soft "squeaky duck sounds" become louder and louder every time the parent bird gets up. :headroll:

Can you see the hole in this video? Or do you think it´s a shadow?

Sometimes it sounds as if two voices are talking, one of them a bit more impatient than the other :bounce: :D

17:18 After a little rest (20 minutes or so) the chick in the egg started talking again at 17:16. The parent bird checked the eggs twice, 17:18 and

17:30 Eggs were rolled again. http://pontu.eenet.ee/kurg/2012-05-19/2 ... -17-30.jpg

17:48 Looks like preening, but always the same place. I saw this earlier this day. Maybe the adult bird is pecking carefully at the egg?

17:53 A moss pad for the eggs.

17:57 The stork gets up again, the chirping becomes stronger.

At 17:45 and 17:53 I have heard voices of two chicks calling from eggs.

Yes, they are audible since hours and become louder now. I think also I hear two different voices.

18:05 The egg "talks" again
18:07 The parent bird gets up and rolls the eggs
This time it waited three minutes until it sat down - this was long. Almost always those "egg-checks" lasted less than a minute today http://pontu.eenet.ee/kurg/2012-05-19/2 ... -18-08.jpg

 I heard that same "talking" - at first I was not sure what I was hearing, but when Tiina (?) sat down again, suddenly the sound was very muffled. I could not see any holes or cracks, but the light is making that difficult. Tiina certainly rolled those eggs around - the chick might be getting dizzy!

edited to add:
when I looked at the screencaptures that I had taken, I could see what looks like a crack in one and a hole in another

Thanks You for the videos, George! :headroll:

I was reading back and saw people's questions about pontu - it sounds like you have figured it out without me! There are also pontu archives for the other cameras.

I think you can see it also here and in some videos.
