Re: Black Stork Webcam Discussion ~ Tiit & Tiina~ 2012
Good morning everybody! :peek:
Jasmijntje, its great! They are young ones.
I know this feeling as we had a young black stork in our near last year. He stayed with our white storks for some weeks. He had a ring and we found out that he came from the Czech Republic. I will never forget. He is on my avatar. Keep your eyes opened!

It was Tiit but he didn't feed them. Maybe he stimulates the storklets to fly.

Hello everybody!
I'm very pleased about the big amount of all your observations, reports, pictures and videos!
At the moment I cannot write every day, not even have a look to the webcam because I'm about to move in another flat.
And before I can go there it is necessary to renovate the whole flat. It will be a lot of work and last for months....
I even couldn't read all postings, but the last one's.
So I will only welcome Jasmijntje
Congratulations! You got so much luck to meet these black storks in the Netherlands!!! I would have been as excited like you, too.
Thank you for your nice pictures. I hope, you will have the opportunity to see them more often!
The siblings are starving.
They even take moss from the tree and are fighting for it, because one thinks, that the other one found something to eat.
They have really to go the hard way to learn flying by not getting the whole lot of food from their parents.
click!
At 8:41 h Tiit came and brought some small fishes. Not 5 seconds, and they were eaten
Afterwards he sat down on the tree.
The siblings were begging all the time (almost 10 minutes non-stop) until Tiina came. But she didn't bring anything...
Have a nice day, all together!

Lots of frogs. :)
But that moss delivery is interesting. Maybe he brought it as a nest material (which is not needed?).

Dear forum friends! So many new members have come here, so we (the admins) would like to remind everyone, new and old, about a few guidelines about posting pictures here. Please limit the amount of pictures in one post to 5, members with slower computers will thank you for this. Remember also, pictures should not exceed the size 800 x 600 in order to make sure the picture fits on smaller monitors without scrolling!

I wonder if the adults are letting the young ones begin to feel a bit hungry now. It might encourage them to fly sooner.

Jo, I asked Leonia about this in the morning, and she wrote to me, that it is quite possible that parents feed them less now to make them a bit lighter and also induce them to start to fly. White storks also do.
I have noticed that when a parent is coming, he or she usually waits for a moment on the left branch before jumping on the nest. Maybe that also should get them out of the comfortable nest!
Asteria - I guess we will hear from Dr. Madis as he has news for us.
