:hi: Welcome Sirje to the forum.
:rotf: I put Sirje's comments through the Google Translate & it was indeed a mish-mash, as usual! But I think it was something about the possibility of using Google Translate to assist in communication.

I wonder how long it would take people with no Estonian to achieve a google level English Estonian translation?

Anyhow, welcome Sirje, and please stick with us.

Preening the feathers. I love how they can stand for long times on only one leg.

You got better light than I did, Ame! Wonderful view of the handsome stork. :loveshower:

 I am logging off now; I slept poorly last night, & hubby & I had a very busy day. It was very hot here today (84 °F or 28.9 °C) & that makes me groggy & tired. So enjoy the beautiful day that is dawning in Estonia & making our cams even more lovely than usual. I look forward to all the photos & videos when I come back in a few hours. Goodnight / Good day, everyone! I am :offtobed:.

then some arranging of twigs ans wing practise and then more preening. it's being very thorough. :D

i've become inclined to believe that this is a female. it hasn't said a single beep since it arrived. shouldn't males begin to call females right away?

good night Kitty!
nearly 29 degrees! and some struggle in snow over here.... :slap:

(Here it is 10-14 and raiiiiny -- some creeks have flood alerts. Snow falling and ice floating in Estonia and a crazy heat wave in the midwestern US) :puzzled:

Somehow seeing the stork's paws in the snow looks painful, but I suppose it is hardly as bad as standing in icy water hunting. I suppose if the water stays melted he will be alright.

Alice, the storks and other birds have a nice physiological mechanism to keep their feet (not paws) from freezing (and a good thing, that is, too!)

At a guess, including modern language teaching and taking "learning Estonian" as getting to the level of GT text understanding - one-two years.

Sheep are clearly baa-ing at distance - so I guess I heard right when I thought there were human voices and real dogs (not Ural owls)
