the stork is still in the nest. i think it knows that it's no use going for breakfast yet: the ground must be still frozen. the wind in the trees sounds sooo cold....

The stork is still on the branch and snow is melting. Something changed since yesterday?

I know how to differ Tiit and Tiina! If the stork calls, it is Tiit if silent, it is Tiina. Was this stork ever calling?

i haven't heard a single shriek so far... the call can't be missed if only the sound is on, it'll be so loud!

i guess the stork is planning of going to brunch, but it is still preening on the branch on the left.

i'm not sure but i think this year the arrival was early as it came already in March.

last year the first stork was seen on Apr 18th by Kuremari: viewtopic.php?p=96859#p96859
but again there was no BS nesting as LSEs took over.

the above mentioned arrivals were at the other BS nest, not the one we are watching now.
the stork jumped back into the nest at 11.59 and just minutes later it had gone while i just turned my back for a second!

Thanks for the message (ame). Then it will be probably the climatic heating up, which lets it fly in former times to its nests. I look forward to an exciting year with the storks.

So it is Tiina waiting for Tiit and she is back earlier than storks usually arrive.

That is for sure: males are never silent! Remember Padis and Toomas how they appeared in the nest.

Since it's more male Blackstorks than females, isn't it a good thing for this nest (and for us ) if it's Tiina who has arrived first? I have never heard a sound from this stork either, and I remember the call from Padis and Toomas too.

Last year Tiina left the nest earlier than Tiit and maybe their arrivals somehow connected with departures: the earlier a stork leavers, the earlier it is back in spring.

Good afternoon!
We have discussed who is who before!
One possibility was to compare shape of the red part around eyes.
Here are two pictures by OLGA. As there are visible spots on Tiina´s back, then Tiit on the left and Tiina on the right:

It seems that Tiina´s red parts near the beak are sharper?
I have felt all time that Tiit arrived on the nest, but to compare pictures it may be Tiina.
I am agree that it would be better option if Tiina arrived first.
