maertha wrote:Strange sound, indeed. But now 19:20 the adult bird gets up - everything is fine. It seems to me that the gnats are quite bothersome for the stork this evening.
The parent bird regurgitates some food, and the storklets try to eat a big piece of fish... done
19:23 And now the parent bird eats fish.
maertha,

I think it is the sound of the parent bird, try to tell the chicks to be calm :) I heard this sound a lot while the eggs were hatching.

It sounded a bit like breathing problems. During the hatching I have not noticed this sound, but I saw just the hatching of the first chick. :shake:
I have visited the Madárlesők website, Macko – interesting, thanks for the link. Beautiful picutres! :2thumbsup:

No wonder that they grow so fast... It was no piece of a fish, it was the whole fish. See at 3:30-4:00 in the video how one of the young manages to gobble it. [quote]

maertha,

it was really fantastic :)

I think this is Tiina in the nest with the three healthy looking youngsters (and the egg), but she was not watching where she stepped  (all is fine)

I had the cam on most of the day, but haven;t been able to see it for more than a few seconds (I have had house guests for 2 weeks  )
They will depart tomorrow, then I can catch up on nest news.
Before then - I haven't seen the egg in the past hour. Did anyone see what happened to it? Maybe it is still there.

George, I love those pictures - thank you!

Jo, the egg is still there - it is visible in the pictures I posted from 16:23 - it is over to the left in that pile.

ETA: I checked Pontu archives, and I can see the egg at 18:29
