Re: Black Stork Nest in Karula - 2018
Good Night, Timea .... Oh, it was addressed to Karl ..., I see, you're online
I have now looked at the situation in May in the 2017 archive. Karl does not have this head shaking.
Are mosquitoes very aggressive, especially in periods of drought?
He gets his food primarily from a stream. When he returns in the evening, the head shaking is particularly intense.
Kati shakes her head "normally", as is common in bird nests. She brings other food home and probably has a longer way to go.

I have also noticed that, e.g. on 11.05. at 17:28:40. It was black / green.
I have seen this several times in other nests.

Yes, I've seen that too.
It was much darker than now.
Probably the colour is depending on the food they eat?

Good morning
06:47 - Both Kati and Karl at home. Housework and preening, and the cuckoo is eager.
Thank you for all reports, have a nice day

Good morning
7:42 - 8:00
Oh, the morning light in Karula is so beautiful!
Kati greets the sun.
She shakes her feathers.
And she incubates her precious eggs.
At 8:53 Kati leaves, Karl on the eggs

...
It's time for Karl to do something sensible again. Then he forgets hopefully shake of his head! What should the offspring think of him?
Whether Kati now takes over the night shifts?
17:22 Karl since about 9:00 o'clock
