Eha is asleep on her nest (how often have I said this?)
Often, Bociany, often!
And you are going to say it again and again, living at the place where you do  (i mean the time zone)
But sleeping Eha is a lovely sight indeed.

13:50, She is still "sleeping" - no , I think "incubating" is what she is doing. This is going to be a very long term activity!

14:00, What an interesting shade for Eha! After a minute it was gone. Looks like somebody is working close to the camera.

Hi alice,

Earlier in the thread (page 1), Jo wrote:

"The female is larger and lighter in colouring than the male.
He is smaller, sleek, well groomed looking, with deeper, brighter colours on legs and beak, and slightly darker plumage. It helps to see both together!"

Urmas also has pointed out that the male has a light brow stripe near his eye.

I guess I just have not watched them enough to get a sense of what is what. Now if they will just both look into the camera for me at the same time, I can learn their faces.

maybe after a few times

Yes, Alice, that's how it works for me, too. Gradually, I think "That's HIM" and if I am right, then the next recognition is easier!

Thanks for the wonderful pictures from today - good view of the eggs.

I am happy to see that Eha moves around and gets something to eat. Next time I see her she will be

09:35 - Eha spotted a crow before crow even made a noise. It was loud!
This is really nice morning - warm and still.
Now she made a short call twice. Time for guard-change?

14:22, Eha is doing good, sitting steady on the nest - how many more days before we can see the first chick to hatch?

First egg was there 21.04, brooding period lasts 37-41days, we have to wait at least 29 days more :whistling:
