Thanks, Andu! Nice clear picture of the nest and the egg. The egg is quite large compared with the size of the bird!
12:23, Eha is back and sitting on the nest!

Eagles never use that?
Yarko, you are right about the differences between this nest, and the sea-eagles nest. Here, there seems to be no nest bowl, for the egg to fit down into.
Instead, it is wobbling about on the surface, and certailnly moves around very easily when the sitting adult gets up!
On the sea eagles nest, it was rare to be able to see the eggs - in fact, we didn't know how many eggs there were because they were down too deep to let us see.

The storks nest was not so deep either, but still, there was a nest bowl, which they built up in bad weather.

We have a place to discuss the nest in Latvia: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=108&start=0
but it has been quiet - maybe because we have not seen any eagles there? For the first time, just now, I saw an eagle on that nest.

I think something is up at the nest!
The male is flying roung, calling for the female - making token vists to the nest to call - but not sitting on the egg!
The egg has been exposed for over half an hour now!!
As I say - I think something has gone wrong!!

15:19
At last the male has arrived and settled on the egg - Hope it didn't get too cold!!!

15:24
No - off again - I don't think he is calling for her - but against an intruder!!

15:37
Dad is back to settle on the egg - how long can they remain uncovered??

16:04
At last Mum arrives with a small fish - which Dad took and flew off with - Mum is now tending the egg!

I dont know, but I wondered it too. It wasn't first time, at least once I have seen the egg alone about half an hour earlier too

Edit: and they even don't hide the egg, I guess one of them must be near the nest all time
:help:

I wouldn´t be too worried about it. We were panicking just like this while watching Klaara, the tawny owl on the other camera. She was leaving her eggs for entire night and I was convinced they must be harmed by that.
But they were perfectly allright and four beautiful chicks have hatched.
I don´t know if it is same with eagles but I have learnt not be too worried and leave to birds, they seem to know best what to do
