Eha has been such a devoted mother! If the eaglet nr 2 has any chance of surviving - it is with her
And there is no hurry to feed the little one - it still has its yolk sac to provide nutrition. Even 24 hours without food is usually quite ok

It was dark grey - almost black... Could it be a common rat?? They do not usually live in forests.
They like people. How far is the nest from nearest houses?

LSE could forage more as 2km of nest and there are several farms in that area. And LSE uses to hunt on fields or sometimes also near houses - where rats are available. But common rats are only in southern Estonia...

Previous prey was a chick of lapwing or of other wader.

It is interesting to know about the pray - it probably does not matter to Eha what Koit brings, but to get to know what kind of pray LSE feed on is very educating for us who watch and want to learn.
