May 25th,
The day started with a very wet nest but it got better soon, because of the wind and later also sunshine.
Remo brought 2 large frogs in the morning, then for some hours nothing and in the afternoon 3 more large frogs. In the beginning of the evening the wind went down and Remo surprised Tuuli with a large, chubby mammal. As usual untill now it was a kind of mouse with a grey back and white belly.
Tuuli is asleep now and many birds are singing in the background.

The day started very sunny although there was a strong wind. Remo started the food supply for Tuuli with a rather large mammal (vole probably) and continued that in the midday by bringing 4 large frogs. Tuuli had one long time-out of about 19 minutes and several short ones. The wind has subsided strongly and Tuuli is sleeping at the moment.

Today is the 30th day of the incubation periode. It started with almost no wind and dry weather.
Remo caught 3 good sized mammals in the morning, and Tuuli took 2 breaks of 18 minutes both. During midday Remo delivered first a mammal, then a large frog and conluded with an other mammal. So a total of 5 mammals and 1 frog today.
About 5 o'clock the wind became stronger and it started raining soon after. Right now Tuuli is sleeping while the cuckoo and other birds are singing and the cranes are calling their eerie call.

It was a long day for Tuuli, Remo only visited twice, bringing a frog both times. The wind was rather strong, but it did not rain at least.
In stead of dried grasses Tuuli brings coniferous twigs to the nest the last few days, laying them in a kind of circle and thus raising the edges of the nestbowl. Could she be feeling the chicks will hatch in not so long now anymore?

Before 9 o'clock Tuuli received already 2 prey's but both were not identified. The weather is dry and there is not much wind, sometimes the sun breaks through.
A very large, small mammal was brought in by Remo
it almost looked like a kind of shaggy marmot and I have no idea what animal it is.
Tuuli took 2 long time-outs, one of 31 minutes and the other one of 23 minutes.
Later on Remo brought a large frog.
And an other rather large animal was brought in by Remo, could not tell what it was:
And Tuuli is enjoying her time-out, she flew away with that prey and is already 51 minutes gone, Remo takes care of the eggs and moves a twig now and again.
After 1 hour and 15 minutes he had enough of it and left, after a few minutes Tuuli returned.
It is still early, so more food may come, but so far 5 prey's have been brought in.

This is the 33rd of the incubation, hatching comes near.....
It started as a rather wet day, Tuuli kept still, just lying. Towards 12 o'clock, the rain stopped , the sun broke through the clouds, but the wind was so strong that the camera stopped very often. Remo only visited once today and brought something small. To me it looked like a frog, but the picture is not clear enough to know for certain.
Tuuli is sleeping with her head in her backfeathers, birds are singing in the background.
