Actually from the batteries place it is not possible to see the nest and we were sure that Tuuli will not leave the brood, but result you know...
Anyway, batteries should last now up to end of breeding time and hope we don't need to go there before ringing.

There are 500-600 pairs of Lesser Spotted Eagles and we do not need to arise artificially the second chick, so we will not disturb natural selection in this stadium. For us it could be cruel or not nice, but that is developed within the species during millions of years in the evolution, the species has survived in that way and we have not right to use humanized approach of sympathy, what is probably only hunderds of years old feeling (like we feel about now)... Hope you understand!
If there happens something extraordinary, then of course, we try to act, to save a chick for example - like it happened with Spot two years ago.

Thank you for the information Urmas, great that there are already so many LSE's. I totally agree with your point of view. And with removing an egg in this stage we only force her to lay another egg, thus exhausting her without any purpose.
