hello everyone

Pi has been alone and sleeping for a while, but he woke up and started calling and doing wing exercises.

Remo was here. Pi was calling and eventually I could see the vole sitting right in front of Pi.

Now I think Pi has put the new prey on top of an older one -- such a tidy little bird.
At first I was just cranky that he was standing with his back to me.

I think Pi is succeeding at eating some guts.

Then Pi gave up on the fresh prey and attacked the older rather stiff prey, all of a sudden (I squeaked out loud) it disappeared into her beak.
9:10 (more or less)
Feet reappeared out of the beak once or twice, but she swallowed it.

Now it is time to sleep like a big bird (well not out on a perch).

Remo was here again. I think he brought something, but I did not see it.

I lost Stephi -- she is hidden in plain sight, a light eaglet in the bright sunshine is almost invisible.

Remo delivered something. I think the something is the red thing, in the sunshine at Pi's feet. I think it is a crumpled frog, but that is only a guess.
11:26
Stephi ate something -- I don't think it was the newest delivery although, the delivery may have been eaten too.
I think this delivery is still there

11:22 - Remo with a delivery, the light makes it difficult to see what he brought..
11:24 - Did Stephi eat it ??
11:25 - she concentrated of a vole..
11:26 - she definitely ate that...
- a vole is lying behind her, maybe Remos 11:22 delivery...

Earlier there were two voles and she ate one so there was at least one left.
There is still something, near where the recent present from Remo was deposited, but I cannot tell if it is nest material or food.
(edit -- I think it is possible to see the shape of a vole in her crop )

Goodnight
If you watch Stephi's tail I think it is almost possible to see those feathers grow. I think they are almost 2x as long today as they were yesterday.

Now that Stephi is able to swallow even rather big voles alone I wonder when she will begin to "cover" the prey Remo or Tuuli will bring in - like Tormi did last year ....

Remo delivered a juicy frog and Tuuli as well as Stephi were greeting him chirruping
Tuuli ripped the frog and it was gone quickly after a few bites I guess Stephi would have managed it alone without problems
Remo left but stayed somewhere nearby - Tuuli looked to the treetops and called as if Remo was close to see ...
