Yes, I read. I need a time to fix everything - crop pictures, then upload to photobucket... Later, when I will have more time.

So happy that both parents were on the nest! And a new branch also! Thank YOU everyone for the pictures!! Even though Stephi is no longer with us, both parents came back and that is such good news!

What do you mean with "fresh fur tree branch"?
some branch with green foliage or what?

i see that i was sooo wrong yesterday in predicting that neither of the LSE parents would return to the nest anymore.
i'll revise my prediction: it seems that now that Tuuli and Remo have no eaglet to take care of out from the nest they come back and decorate the nest for the next season. those fresh twigs are spruce twigs (branches from a Christmas tree. )
they are certainly planning to be back next year.

Nobody knows for sure. Maybe they come back again, bring some more twigs or cleaning up the nest or just sit on it for a bit preening feathers.pinkish wrote:So.. they are gone now, aren't they?
That could be possible until around end of august. I don´t know if they will migrate earlier, as there is no young one to teach hunting and feed it ....

I read here the female usually leave before the male. But as the male doesn't have to feed any young.. do you think they could leave together?Bea wrote:

I have no idea what makes them decide to start the migration one day, and not the day later or earlier ....
Perhaps they wait for a "good wind" they can glide well with ... but I guess now they are still hunting food to get to a good condition for the long way south.

I believe it's just a misprint. Someone just printed "fur" instead of "fir"; that's the story about :)pinkish wrote:Sorry for asking..
