17:43 Remo heard Tuuli's calls and immediately took off. He was at nest almost one hour - 57 minutes!

But Tuuli's reaction was really strange and I wonder if Mr Blond came to take a look!

I heard some sounds at some point after almost dark, but was not in a position to look.

Earlier in the day I had wondered -- I thought maybe I heard an LSE in the forest, even when Tuuli and Remo were at the nest. I think there are reports of female LSEs visiting nests, but I think the male is theoretically territorial about visiting males.

But the eagle in the Pontu picture does look smaller than Tuuli.

Tuuli was preening and then she fell down on Stephi, covering the chick completely and watched the sky -- and I thought, wow that seems like she saw a danger to Stephi and then I heard a Raven.

Again there are interesting calls that I cannot identify -- just now a gurgling one (might possibly be a "talking" raven).

A large vole was delivered (and I think Stephi is crawling over to it)

Stephi has grown a great deal even though Tuuli seems to prefer screaming at passers by to feeding the chick.

After ripping the prey and eating a large portion of it herself Tuuli feeds little Pi.
