11:03 - LSE calls from the forest. Stephi answer so it must be Tuuli.

11.31 there chainsaw continues and Stephi continues preening. there are very big black flies flying around on the nest.

I hear the work also, are they allowed to do that? Or are they outside the "circle"? Last year the work started only after the nest was left!

do you think if people are working in the forest on sunday there are "official" workers
i think better people working unofficially for their own profit

if i remember right there's a farm not very far from the nest (maybe less than a kilometer?) i think i've heard a dog bark there and a cock cawing. these foresters a certainly not professionals, not on a Sunday.
so you heard the buzzard, too, Bea.

I don`t know how it is in Estonia, but here in my country --- if you are the private owner of a forest you can work there whenever you want or have time to ....Sylvie Lefevre wrote:do you think if people are working in the forest on sunday there are "official" workers

i found this post by Urmas in the Black Stork 2009 thread. (then this nest was a BS nest still. ). he posted it there on April 3rd at 10.49. it's on page 4: viewtopic.php?p=30701#p30701
some foresters were working close to the nest then, too. then they were making noise so loud that it was very disturbing. here's a post about it by Urmas again (Apr 3rd at 10.20, viewtopic.php?p=30696#p30696):Urmas wrote:Checked the distances.
The pond where foresters clean around, is 470m from nest.
The closest point of road (traffic noise) is 1200m from nest and closest farm (dog barking) 800m away...
Urmas wrote:I checked the situation through foresters.
They are cleaning today one pond surrounding about 500-600m from nest. This work is ordered by me to make a place for to feed storks there (or even to trap one of them for transmitter, if possible). Around the pond there are overgrown bushes and no possibilities to enter for the stork.
That's surprisingly loud saw noise! Hope no other activities in private forest nearby appear, because can't locate the noise maker through camera. Also I can't go today there for to check the situation on place.
I'm sorry for this noise, didn't imagine it so disturbing for camera watchers, including myself!
As there is still snow everywhere, I hope stork will not arrive today...

ame, thank you for the older posts about the surrounding of the nest - it is so good to have you "long-time-watchers" here, one of you always remembers something from earlier

Stephi made gestures which seemed to me like she were trying to throw up a pellet. i just can't see anything really coming out of her beak but i can't think of anything else she migth have done here.
Bea thanks for not writing "older members"....

was it a frog which Stephi ate? if so Remo must have visited. the both moles seem to be there still, too. i think i saw a pair of long legs disappearing down...
(i had a too small window again. i don't know why it doesn't expand to full screen no matter how many times i click the expand-button..? ).
yes it was a frog. i watch Manu's video again.
(this time i opened it in the Tube and then the expanding works. )
Stephi makes some squeaky breathing sounds every now and then.

19:23 - Stephi wants a tidy home. The food has been put nicely in place

Voles are there in very good order. I bet she wants to keep them herself when Tuuli comes. Even though she could need a little help with them.Lussi05 wrote:19:23 - Stephi wants a tidy home. The food has been put nicely in place
