Re: Estonian LSE Nest Discussion 2012 ~ Eha & Koit
Most eagles continue to come back to the nest for a while to eat after flying the first time. It seems as though Kalev would continue to come back for a few days.

That would have been great, but the experience is that when the Lesser Spotted Eaglets leave the nest, they don't return. But sometimes they can be heard..MarshaMay wrote:Most eagles continue to come back to the nest for a while to eat after flying the first time. But we can hope though..

katsik, Lussi05 I haven´t heard anything, but it´s hard to hear something special when there are too many cams open.

Yes, thank you from me, too. I did go over onto the Finnish forum to see if there were photos posted there, and there were, plus info on what it was. I could see the photos on there and it was most definitely a weasel. And my mistake.alice44 wrote:aita -- thank you for the information on weasels and and the close up pictures of the poor little creature and the beautiful eagle.
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,

Maxie, I think he is gone. I know i heard him calling way out there somewhere last night as I listened with the cam up and running but I did not see him, anymore. It is so sad, yet so good. At least he made it and he fledged. He is now flying fee over the fields and the woods and will hopefully make it for migration to Africa then back here in the spring.Maxie4Paws wrote:does anyone know if he has left the nest for good??? Eha just brought a large fir tree branch, laid it in the nest then flew away.
Does this mean she is leaving the sign that she will be back?

Hello! New to forum. I have a question. How are the names chosen for the eaglets and the Osprey chicks?

The year when no one nested in the black stork nest, LSEs visited at the end of the season and put a few things on the nest and as I recall Urmas said he expected them to be back the next year -- so maybe.Chimega wrote:Eha just brought a large fir tree branch, laid it in the nest then flew away.

Yes, at the nest and calling quite a bit, too. I wonder why?

I heard someone calling from the trees. Eha heard it too and flew away, perhaps in that direction?

Eha ate the vole. Then she went on the branch again (cleaning her beak?) before she left.

Perhaps she would better like to feed Kalev on the nest than on the branches outside ....
