I agree, she looks like she is waiting and looking for Kalev...
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

No, it not: Eha is in the nest and not on the branch.
The exact sign that Kalev left will be when Koit comes with a prey and then takes that prey and flies off.

I think she knows that he should be coming back to the nest. Tuuli, I think knew that Stephi wouldn't be coming back, not waiting for her on the nest and Remo left really quick and never came back.

10:51h Eha is still waiting for Kalev. If he is really gone I wish Kalev all the best and hope next year we will see Eha and Koit again.

Bea thank you for your opinion of the food in the nest -- at first it looked like a bird and then I thought it was probably the poor little weasel, but I just was not sure.

Or she is checking the nest like Tiina yesterday.

I think Tuuli was waiting for the raptor, no idea why though.

That's an awfully small weasel if that's what it is.

Last week I saw the two little weasels in our forest, but I didn't know what kind of animal is that. It were weasel cubs I guess.

I actually should go, should not miss my train, but it's so exciting at the moment. I think Kalev is still around, lots of shouting from jays and other birds, I heard a quiet LSE voice (like Tormi last year, quite excited shouting) and I think Eha sees someone flying around!
Maybe Kalev does show uo again, who knows?
The weasel - for a lesser weasel I think it is too big, so it's maybe a young one?

And now I have to go, the train won't wait for me!

Have a safe trip on the train and hurry back, Felis.

I think if Kalev was on the ground, Eha would be with him or at least be looking around down there. I think he is ok!

I saw it when she brought it, earlier, and saw Kalev nibbling at it. It looked like a really big vole to me. :puzzled:

Weasels vary a lot in size -- males are considerably larger than females and of course the young are smaller.

I wanted to compare them with moles but I have not found their weight yet. Arkive says moles weigh about 72-128 grams. Arkive says Weasels are about 140 -445 grams, but chances are that Koit was catching small young foolish ones.

First she was on the branch, cleaning her beak ....

...taking a look around ....

... and diving away to the lower right side .... then one could hear Eha calling and answers from Kalev(?) like "tchouk-tchouk-tchouk"

I think so too, but it has been more bird-noise to the right than usually.

I think since Spot was found on the ground it is always a worry in my brain. But I think Kalev is flying about.

Maybe it depends on what country the weasel is from but over here in the US, they are pretty good size, like ermine and ferrets. Short tailed weasels, here, are 7-14 inches long and 2-5 ounces, while with the ferrets, the length of wild ferrets is the same as that of domestic ferrets: 18 to 24 inches (including a 5- to 6-inch tail). They do, however, weigh less on average, with females being typically 1-1/2 lbs. and males about 2-1/2 lbs.
